# How to rewind a live Kick stream
Kick publishes no instructions for rewind, so these steps come from Gfinity's February 2025 walkthrough and from the code kick.com serves today.[9][12]
- Open the live stream on kick.com. Gfinity says to log in first, but nothing read for this guide shows that an account is required.[9]
- Move your cursor to the bottom of the player. Gfinity: "When you hover your cursor near the bottom of your streaming screen a seek bar pops out."[9]
- Drag or click back along the seek bar. The video continues from the point you choose.[9]
- Return with the Live button. "The live button is located near the playback controls."[9]
| Control | When | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Left arrow | Watching live | Jumps to 30 seconds behind live |
| Left arrow | Already behind live | Goes back 5 seconds |
| Right arrow | Already behind live | Goes forward 5 seconds |
| Right arrow | Within 30 seconds of live | Returns to live |
| Seek bar | Behind live, dragged near it | Returns you to live |
| Either arrow | An ad is playing | Nothing |
Forward works the same way, so the same seek bar and right arrow answer how to fast forward on Kick. You cannot go past live. The code also shows that if you pause by clicking the player for more than 30 seconds and then press play, you stay behind live rather than jumping to the current moment.[12]
# How far back can you rewind on Kick?
Kick does not state a limit. Its player code plays rewound video from a separate recording of the running stream, so the length of that recording is what matters.[12] On 30 October 2026, Streamrise took 52 live channels from Kick's public lists, with audiences from 0 to about 21,600 viewers, and compared each recording with how long the stream had been live.[12]
| Stream had been live | Каналы | Recording length |
|---|---|---|
| Over 1 hour | 24 | Within 35 seconds of time live |
| Under 1 hour | 24 | Within 35 seconds of time live |
| Under 4 minutes, exceptions | 2 | About 2.5 minutes short |
The longest stream in the sample had been live for 23 hours 33 minutes, and its recording was 11 seconds shorter than that.[12] So on the channels checked, the recording reaches back to the start, not just a few minutes. This is one sample on one morning. It shows what the recordings held, not that every channel behaves this way at all times.
# Can't rewind on Kick? Check these five things
Kick has no troubleshooting page for rewind, so each item below comes from the check or from a Kick page on a related problem. Work through them in order.
- The stream has only just started. Two streams under four minutes old had recordings about 2.5 minutes shorter than their time live, while 4 others of that age were already within 35 seconds.[12] The player code shows the seek bar only when that recording is available, so on a brand-new stream, wait a few minutes.[12]
- You are too close to live. The seek bar does not hold you within 30 seconds of live, so a tiny drag can look as if nothing happened.[12] Drag further back, or press the left arrow.
- An ad is playing. The arrow keys do nothing during an ad.[12] Wait for it to finish, then rewind.
- The stream dropped and reconnected. Kick says a stream that reconnects can be split "into multiple VODs."[4] Kick does not say how that affects rewind, but if the bar stops short, an earlier part may sit in a separate video on the channel's Videos tab.
- You are in the app. Kick's app guide does not list rewind for live streams.[3] Try kick.com in a browser. See Section 4.
# Can you rewind on the Kick mobile app?
Nothing Kick has published answers this. When rewind launched, Dexerto reported that it "will be available “soon” for mobile users, but is live on the desktop version right away."[8] Gfinity repeated in February 2025: "As for now, you can only use it on Kick's official website."[9] Neither report has a follow-up in the pages read for this guide.
Kick's current app guide lists the app's features as watching live streams in HD, chat, following, subscribing, sending KICKs and "Watch VODs and Clips".[3] Its seeking instruction appears only under VODs: "You can pause, skip ahead, and jump to specific timestamps just like a regular video."[3] The guide does not mention live streams there, which is not proof that the app cannot do it. It simply does not say.
The TV apps are not covered by any page read for this guide. For which devices have a Kick app at all, see can you watch Kick on TV.
# Rewinding past an ad
This is the one place Kick itself recommends rewinding. Its advertising FAQ says "Creators have the option to delay upcoming ad breaks from their dashboard, but this isn't always possible." It then adds: "If you miss a moment because of an ad, you can rewind to watch it uninterrupted."[1] So when an ad covers something, wait for the ad to end, then go back.
# Other ways back: the Videos tab and clips
Before the seek bar arrived, the route was the channel's Videos section. Gameland described it in May 2024: "viewers can click on the ongoing stream in the streamer’s channel, which will take them to a VOD version with only a few seconds delay to the live."[11] The data behind that route still exists. In the check, 50 of 50 running streams were listed among their channel's videos as live.[12] That checks Kick's data, not the Videos tab on screen.
Kick's VOD page does not describe this. It says "Once you finish your livestream, a VOD will be saved."[2] So treat the running video as a useful extra that Kick does not document, not as a promised feature.
To keep a moment, clip it. Kick says clips run "10 to 180 seconds in length".[5] The website code also has a separate clip mode for when you are behind live, so you can rewind to the moment first and clip from there.[12] If a clip misses the moment, Kick's advice is: "Refresh your browser or device page to make sure you are watching the most up-to-date stream, then try creating the Clip again."[5] The rest is in how to clip on Kick.
# Where older guides no longer match
Most coverage of Kick rewind dates from the launch weeks in early 2025. Two of its details need a second look.
| Topic | Older guide says | Сегодня |
|---|---|---|
| Arrow keys | Not available | In the web code: 5-second steps |
| App or phone | Website only | Kick has not said |
The quotes behind the rows. Gfinity, on skipping back with the keyboard: "this option is not available in Kick's rewind feature."[9] The player code served on 30 October 2026 handles the left and right arrow keys on live streams.[12] Gfinity's article is from February 2025, so the keyboard controls may simply have been added since.
# For streamers: what decides how far viewers can go
Viewers can only go back as far as the recording of your stream goes, so a stable connection helps them as well as you. Kick says a stream that disconnects and reconnects may be split "into multiple VODs."[4] Keeping your stream in one piece is the part you control. Why a Kick stream keeps disconnecting covers the causes.
Ads are the other part. You can delay an ad break from your dashboard, though Kick says that is not always possible.[1] When you cannot, viewers who know about rewind can recover the moment, so it is worth telling your chat that it exists.
You set the speed and window
Streamrise sells Kick viewers. Your channel link only, no password, and you set the speed and window, from 30 minutes to a month. Kick's Community Guidelines prohibit bots and third-party tools that artificially inflate views. Read them and decide for yourself.
- ~5 min to the first viewer
- Your channel link only, no password
- Журнал выполнения по заказам
# The bottom line
You can rewind a live Kick stream for free in a browser, and on the channels checked the recording reached back to the start of the stream.[10][12] Use the seek bar or the arrow keys, and the Live button to return.[9][12] On a new stream, wait a few minutes. In the app, assume nothing until you have tried it, because Kick has not published the answer.[3]
# Частые вопросы
Can you rewind Kick streams?
Yes, in a browser. Hover near the bottom of the player, drag the seek bar back, and use the Live button to return.
Is rewinding on Kick free?
Yes on the web, according to Dexerto, which contrasts Kick with Twitch's paywall. No subscription condition appears in the coverage or in Kick's advertising FAQ.
How far back can you rewind on Kick?
Kick states no limit. In a check of 50 live channels on 30 October 2026, the recording behind the seek bar covered the whole stream so far on 48. The other two had just started and were about 2.5 minutes short.
Why can't I rewind on Kick?
The stream may have just started, you may be within 30 seconds of live, an ad may be playing, or you may be in the app. Try kick.com in a browser and drag further back.
Can you rewind on the Kick app?
Kick's help pages do not say. Its app guide describes seeking only for VODs. Launch coverage in January 2025 said mobile was coming soon, and nothing read for this guide confirms it arrived.
Do the arrow keys work on Kick?
Yes in the current web code. The left arrow jumps to 30 seconds behind live, then steps back 5 seconds a press. A 2025 guide says they do not work, which appears to be out of date.
How do you fast forward on Kick?
Drag the seek bar forward or press the right arrow, which moves 5 seconds. Once you are within 30 seconds of live, you return to the live stream.
Does chat rewind on Kick?
Kick's help pages do not say what chat does while you are rewound, and this guide could not confirm it.
Can you rewind after the stream ends?
Not with the live player. The stream becomes a VOD, which can take up to an hour to appear on longer streams, and then you seek through it like a regular video.
Can you rewind past an ad on Kick?
Yes. Kick's advertising FAQ says that if an ad covers a moment, you can rewind to watch it uninterrupted. The arrow keys do not work while the ad is playing, so wait for it to end.
