Twitch Affiliate Requirements 2026 (Streamlined Threshold)

Twitch Affiliate requires 25 followers + 4 hours streamed + 4 unique broadcast days + 3 average concurrent viewers, all simultaneously inside a rolling 30-day window. Twitch streamlined this in early 2025 from the older 50/500-minute/7-day requirement.

Twitch Affiliate requirements (2026, post-streamline): 25 followers, 4 hours streamed, 4 unique broadcast days, 3 average concurrent viewers — all inside a rolling 30-day window. Twitch auto-invites once all four overlap. Two- factor authentication is mandatory on the account. The thresholds are durable once cleared.

Twitch streamlined Affiliate eligibility in early 2025 to make monetisation accessible from day one for most streamers. The 3-CCV requirement is the only unchanged threshold.

The "rolling 30-day window" explained

Twitch checks each calendar day whether the previous 30 days satisfied all four conditions simultaneously. So the qualification trigger isn\'t hitting any one condition first — it\'s the moment all four overlap inside any 30-day span. Practical effect: if you hit 25 followers in week 2 but reach 4 broadcast days only in week 6, qualification activates in week 6 when both conditions sit inside the same 30-day window.

Why the 3-CCV is the bottleneck

The other three thresholds clear with consistent streaming alone: stream 4 hours across 4 days, follow people who follow back, the count climbs. The 3-CCV requirement is different — it requires real-time audience overlap, sustained over 30 days. That depends on:

  • Category match — niche games / streams have less competition for first-page Browse surface.
  • Time-zone overlap — streaming when your target audience is actually online.
  • External audience-acquisition pipeline — cross-platform clips, raid networks, Discord communities pulling viewers in.
  • Sustained content quality — viewers who arrive need a reason to stick around long enough to count toward CCV.

Two-factor authentication requirement

Twitch enforces 2FA on Affiliate accounts as a hard requirement — auto-invites are blocked if 2FA isn\'t configured. Enable it before you cross the threshold so the invite can fire. SMS or authenticator app both work; authenticator app is more secure (SMS 2FA is bypassable via SIM-swap attacks).

What "average concurrent viewers" means in detail

Twitch averages CCV across all your live broadcast minutes inside the rolling 30-day window. A 1-hour stream with 4 viewers and a 2-hour stream with 2 viewers averages (4×60 + 2×120) / 180 = 2.67 across the 3-hour span. The creator dashboard shows the running average. To clear 3-CCV at, say, 4 hours of stream time, you need (3 × 240) = 720 viewer-minutes across those 4 hours.

Bot viewers are excluded from the calculation. Twitch\'s anti-bot detection identifies fake CCV (data-center IP traffic, malformed playback fingerprints, abnormal completion rates) and removes those minutes from the average. Channels caught using free viewer-bot services typically see their CCV count drop sharply after Twitch\'s periodic bot-purge waves.

Plus Program eligibility (after Affiliate)

Once you hit Affiliate, Plus Program qualification is the next milestone for revenue growth: ≥100 Plus Points held three consecutive months unlocks 60/40 split; ≥300 PP unlocks 70/30. Plus Points come from paid recurring subs only — Tier 1 = 1 PP, Tier 2 = 2 PP, Tier 3 = 6 PP per month each subscriber renews. Gifted and Prime subs are excluded.

FAQ

What changed in 2025?

Twitch dramatically eased the Affiliate threshold in early 2025. Old requirement: 50 followers + 500 stream minutes + 7 unique broadcast days + 3 average viewers. New requirement: 25 followers + 4 hours + 4 broadcast days + 3 average viewers. The follower count halved, stream time and broadcast days dropped significantly, only the 3-CCV stayed the same. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy framed the change as opening monetization tools to most streamers from day one.

Do all four conditions need to overlap?

Yes — Twitch checks each calendar day whether the previous 30 days satisfied all four simultaneously. So if you hit 25 followers in week 2 but didn't reach 4 broadcast days until week 6, qualification activates in week 6 (when all four conditions overlap inside any 30-day span ending that day).

Does Twitch require two-factor authentication?

Yes. Two-Factor Authentication on the Twitch account is mandatory for Affiliate eligibility — Twitch enabled it as a hard requirement to reduce account takeovers and creator-payout fraud. Enable it before you cross the threshold so the auto-invite isn't blocked on missing 2FA.

What do "average concurrent viewers" mean exactly?

Twitch averages concurrent viewer counts across all your live broadcast minutes inside the rolling 30-day window. A stream with 4 viewers for 1 hour and 2 viewers for 2 hours averages (4+2+2)/3 = 2.67 across that 3-hour span. Twitch's creator dashboard shows the running average. The "3 average viewers" requirement is the hardest condition for most early streamers because it requires real-time audience overlap.

Are bot viewers counted toward the 3-CCV requirement?

No — Twitch's anti-bot detection identifies and excludes bot viewers from the average-CCV calculation. Channels caught using "free viewer bot" services typically see their CCV count drop after the bot purge, plus risk Affiliate revocation if the violation is serious. The /free-twitch-viewers guide explains why these services are dangerous.

Can I lose Affiliate after I qualify?

Affiliate status is durable — Twitch doesn't periodically re-check the four threshold conditions. You keep Affiliate status indefinitely as long as you don't violate Twitch ToS. Serious ToS violations (DMCA strikes, harassment, viewbotting) can result in channel suspension which removes Affiliate with the suspension.

What if my CCV drops after qualifying?

Doesn't affect Affiliate status — only Partner status is reviewed periodically. Affiliate is durable. Even if you stream once a quarter at 0 CCV, your Affiliate status stays active until you violate ToS or Twitch ends the program (which they've never done in the program's history).
