# Block, mute, ban or report: which tool does what
Kick gives viewers three personal tools and gives streamers a fourth. Its blocking guide sums up the difference: Mute "Hides messages from a specific user in chat", Block "Stops a user from interacting with you or appearing in your chat", and Report "Flags a user or piece of content to KICK's moderation team for review".[1] A ban is different again: it is set by a channel, not by you, and only "Moderators, Channel Owners, and KICK Staff can ban or unban Chatters."[2]
| Tool | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Mute | Hides one chatter's messages, for you only | Web and app |
| Block | Keeps a user or channel out of your view | Kick app only |
| Report | Sends content to Kick's moderation team | Web and app |
| Ban | Stops someone chatting in one channel | Set by that channel's owner or mods |
Sources for the table: Kick's blocking guide marks Block as "available just on the app".[1] The Moderation features guide gives web and mobile steps for muting, and says of blocking: "This feature is currently only available in the KICK Mobile App."[2] Kick's reporting article gives report steps for the web and for the iOS and Android apps.[4]
# How to block someone in the Kick app
Kick describes two ways in, in two different articles. Neither says which one is current, so both are given here. We did not test them in the app for this guide.
From a username. Kick's blocking guide gives three steps:[1]
- Tap their username.[1]
- Choose the block option from the menu that opens.[1]
- Confirm the block. "Blocks last until you remove them."[1]
From a stream card. The Moderation features guide describes blocking a channel rather than a user:[2]
- Find the channel's stream card in the app. "On any stream card in the app, click the vertical ellipsis icon on the right side of the card title."[2]
- Open Block and Report. The three-dot icon opens a modal with that name.[2]
- Tap the red Block button, then confirm. "From there, click the red Block button."[2]
What the second route does is spelled out: "Blocked channels will have their thumbnails blurred and their stream titles redacted."[2] The first route is described by what the blocked user can no longer do: appear in your chat view, or "Interact with you in most parts of KICK".[1] Kick does not list which parts are excluded.
# How to unblock someone and find your block list
Kick's two articles also put the block list in different places. The blocking guide says: "You can manage your blocked users list from your account settings."[1] The Moderation features guide describes a Blocked Channels list in the app and gives two ways to unblock:[2]
- From the blurred card. "Click the Unblock button displayed in the bottom-right corner of the blurred thumbnail on a blocked channel’s stream card."[2]
- From the list. In the app's header bar, tap your avatar on the right to open the profile menu, open Blocked Channels, and tap the trashcan icon next to the channel.[2]
# On kick.com: mute instead
On the web, muting is the tool Kick documents for keeping someone out of your view. Kick files it under personal moderation options, which "allow Viewers to control what they see across KICK."[2] It applies across the whole site, not one channel: "A muted Chatter’s messages will be hidden across all chat rooms on KICK.com for the Viewer who muted them."[2]
- Open the chatter's profile. Kick's blocking guide starts by clicking the username in chat.[2][1]
- Click the Mute icon. "Click the Mute icon on web, or select Mute from the menu on mobile."[2]
- Confirm in the pop-up. Their messages disappear from your chat, including the ones already on screen: "This includes both new messages and messages that were already visible in the chat room."[2]
To unmute, the Moderation features guide says to open the Chat Room Settings menu on the right side of the message box, select Muted Chatters, and click the trashcan icon next to the name. The panel also shows how many chatters you have muted.[2] You can also unmute from the same profile window, but only while it is still open. Once you close it, Kick says you cannot reopen it from chat, because that chatter's messages are gone from your view.[2]
# Will they know you blocked or muted them?
Not from a notice. For blocking, Kick says: "Blocked users are not directly told you have blocked them, but they may notice if they try to interact with you."[1] For muting, Kick also says the person is not told, and because muting only changes your view, they keep chatting as normal.[1][3] Our guide to why you can't chat on Kick covers the other side of that: a mute you cannot see from your end.
| You | Are they told? | Can they notice? |
|---|---|---|
| Mute them | No | Not from their side |
| Block them | Not directly | Yes, if they try to interact with you |
| Report them | Never who reported | They may see action Kick takes |
Sources for the table: the blocking guide for muting and blocking,[1] and the reporting article, which says "All reports are anonymous." and that the person reported is never told who reported them.[4] The last cell rests on Kick's list of what can follow a report, such as "warnings, suspensions, or bans".[1]
# When blocking is not enough: report
A block or a mute changes what you see. A report is what can get someone warned, suspended or banned by Kick.[1] Kick's reporting article starts with "Report each issue once." and points out that reports go after content, not pages: "You can't report a profile or channel page on its own."[4] So report the chat message or the stream where the problem happened.
- In chat, click the message or the chatter's username. In the app, tap the username.[4]
- Select Report.[4]
- Choose the category that fits best, add details and submit. Kick says the right category helps its team review the report quickly and correctly.[4]
For a live stream or VOD on the web, Kick says to use the Report icon at the bottom right of the video player. For a clip, open it, click the three dots and select Report.[4] Kick also warns against reporting people you simply dislike: "Repeated false reporting may also result in action against your own account."[5]
# Where Kick's own pages disagree
In a web search we ran on 27 October 2026, the top results for this question were Kick's own help pages, and that is where the confusion starts. Kick's guide to blocking, muting and reporting shows May 7, 2026. The Moderation features guide shows "Updated today" on 27 October 2026, and the reporting article was updated the same day.[1][2][4] On four points they do not match.
| Question | Blocking guide | Newer pages |
|---|---|---|
| What do you block? | A user, from their username | A channel, from its stream card |
| Where is the list? | Account settings | Blocked Channels, in the app menu |
| Where do you unmute? | Muted users list in account settings | Muted Chatters, in chat settings |
| Can you report a streamer's page? | Lists Streamers as reportable | Report the stream or chat, not the page |
The quotes behind the rows. Blocking guide: "You can manage your blocked users list from your account settings." and, for muting, "find them in your muted users list in your account settings, or click on them in chat and select unmute." It also lists Streamers among the things you can report.[1] Moderation features guide: "On any stream card in the app, click the vertical ellipsis icon on the right side of the card title." It puts Muted Chatters in the Chat Room Settings menu and Blocked Channels in the app's profile menu.[2] Reporting article: "You can't report a profile or channel page on its own."[4]
Kick's privacy page, updated on 26 October 2026, sides with the blocking guide on what a block is for: "stop a user from interacting with you".[3] None of the pages says whether the user block and the channel block are one feature or two. In practice, try the route in front of you in the app, and if the list is not in one place, look in the other.
# Blocking on a computer: browser extensions
None of the Kick help pages read for this guide describes a Block button on kick.com. Kick marks blocking as app only in both of its articles.[1][2] In the same web search, several results were browser extensions rather than Kick pages.
One example is uKick, a Firefox add-on. Its listing says it can block channels, categories and tags, and lists "Filter Chat Users: Automatically hides and marks messages from blocked users in Kick chat." The same listing states: "Disclaimer: This extension is not affiliated with or endorsed by Kick.com."[7] It asks for access to your data on kick.com and dashboard.kick.com.[7] We did not install or test it.
# For streamers: keeping someone out of your chat
Kick documents a mute as changing only your own view, and its pages do not say whether a personal block stops someone chatting in your channel for everyone else.[3][1] The tools Kick does document for that are the channel ones: "If you are a Streamer, you have a much wider set of controls over your own channel, including chat modes, banned words, timeouts and bans."[3] The commands, the Banned Chatters list and the timeout rules are in our guide to Kick moderators, so they are not repeated here.
If someone you banned comes back on a new account, Kick treats it as ban evasion: "The key principle is that suspensions and bans apply to the person, not just the account." Its advice to the person being targeted: "Block each new account as it appears" and "Report each account with context that this person has been banned before for harassing you".[6] A streamer should also ban each new account from the channel and keep screenshots.[6]
You set the speed and window
Streamrise sells Kick viewers. You set the delivery speed and window in the dashboard, from 30 minutes to a month, starting at $0.49 per 100. No Kick password needed, just your channel link. Kick's Community Guidelines prohibit artificially inflating views, followers or engagement. Read them and decide for yourself.
- 30 min to a month, you set the window
- $0.49 per 100, the starting price
- No Kick password needed
# The bottom line
To block someone on Kick, use the mobile app: tap their username or the three-dot menu on their stream card and tap Block.[1][2] On kick.com, mute them instead, which hides them from you in every chat room.[2] If they break the rules, report the message or the stream as well, because a block does not report anyone.[1][4] And if the block list is not where one Kick page says, check the other place: Kick's own pages disagree.[1][2]
# FAQ
How do you block someone on Kick?
In the Kick mobile app, tap their username and choose Block, or tap the three-dot icon on a channel's stream card and tap the red Block button. Confirm, and the block stays until you remove it.
Can you block someone on Kick on PC?
Not with a Kick feature, according to Kick's help pages, which say blocking is available only in the mobile app. On kick.com you can mute the person, which hides their messages from you in every chat room.
Can you block a streamer on Kick?
Yes, in the app. Kick's Moderation features guide describes blocking a channel from its stream card. The channel's thumbnail is then blurred and its stream title hidden for you.
How do I unblock someone on Kick?
Tap Unblock on the blurred stream card, or open the Blocked Channels list from your avatar in the app and tap the trashcan icon. Kick's older blocking guide says the list is in your account settings.
Does Kick tell someone you blocked them?
No. Kick says blocked users are not directly told, but they may notice if they try to interact with you.
What is the difference between mute and block on Kick?
Mute hides one chatter's messages from your view, on the web and in the app. Block is app only and is meant to stop a user interacting with you. To keep someone out of your own channel's chat, Kick documents bans and timeouts.
How do I ban someone from my Kick chat?
A ban is a channel tool, not a personal block. Only the channel owner, moderators and Kick staff can ban. The steps and commands are in our Kick moderator guide.
Why did my blocked list disappear on Kick?
Kick stores blocked channels on the device. If you uninstall the app, the list is lost, so you have to block those channels again.
Does blocking someone on Kick report them?
No. Kick says blocking does not report someone and reporting does not block them. If they break the rules, do both.
Can I block DMs on Kick?
There is nothing to block. Kick says it doesn't have direct messages.
