# Every Kick badge, who gets it and who controls it
Kick's help pages and developer docs describe ten kinds of badge a viewer can carry. Some are set up by you as the streamer, some are handed out by you, and some come from Kick or from the viewer's own watch time. The table collects them. Each row is explained further down.[1][2][3][8][9][10]
| Badge | Who gets it | Who controls it | Where Kick says it shows |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subscriber | Viewers subscribed to your channel, including gifted subs | You upload the art. Kick switches it at each milestone | Next to the username in that streamer's chat |
| Founder | A channel's first 100 subscribers | Kick | Not stated |
| Gifted subscription | Viewers who gift subs in your channel | Kick | Next to the gifter's username |
| VIP | Up to 100 viewers who follow you | The channel owner | At the start of the name in chat |
| OG | Up to 50 viewers who follow you | The channel owner | At the start of the name in chat |
| Moderator | Viewers you make moderators | The channel owner | In chat messages, per Kick developer docs |
| Level | Any logged-in viewer, from watch time | The viewer turns it on | Across all channels |
| Daily Rewards badges | Viewers who watch 1 hour in a day and claim | Kick, through a roulette-style reveal | Not stated |
| KICK Staff | Kick staff | Kick | In chat |

# How to add sub badges on Kick
Check that you can. Kick's sub badge article says: "You cannot add sub badges unless you are in the Affiliate or Partner program."[1] Its beginner checklist says the same about custom emotes and badges: "These come once you reach Affiliate."[11] Subscriptions also need a Stripe account, which you set up from the Revenue page of your Streamer Dashboard. Kick adds: "Unfortunately, until Stripe is available in your country, you will not be able to set up subscriptions."[12] What Kick currently asks for to reach Affiliate is covered in our guide to Kick's monetization steps.
Prepare the files. Kick says you will need "image files in PNG format with transparent backgrounds".[1] It gives no size, which the next section deals with.
- Go to kick.com and log in.[1]
- Click your profile icon, then select Streamer Dashboard.[1]
- Go to Channel, then Community, then Sub Badges.[1]
- Upload each PNG into its time slot. Kick's example is "such as 1 month or 3 months".[1]
- Click Save.[1]
After that, Kick says: "Once saved, your subscription badges will be ready to appear in chat." You do not assign badges to people. "KICK will automatically update its badge when they reach new loyalty milestones."[1]
# What size should Kick sub badges be?
Kick does not say. Its sub badge article asks for transparent PNG files and stops there.[1] None of the 18 Kick help articles that mention chat badges, as read on 28 September 2026, gives a pixel size, a file size limit or any word on animated sub badges. Kick's branding article only describes sub badges as small: "They are tiny markers that appear next to subscriber usernames in chat. Keep them simple and recognisable."[15]
The number you will find elsewhere comes from third parties. OWN3D, which sells badge sets, says Kick badges must be uploaded at "36 px x 36 px".[5] Emote Resizer's Kick guide, dated 9 February 2026, lists the same 36 x 36 pixel upload size.[6] Neither page cites a Kick document for the figure.
| Spec | Kick Help Center | Third-party guides |
|---|---|---|
| File format | PNG with a transparent background | PNG, transparent background recommended (Emote Resizer) |
| Pixel size | Not stated | 36 x 36 pixels (OWN3D and Emote Resizer) |
| File size limit | Not stated | Not stated for badges |
| Animated badges | Not mentioned | Not mentioned in either page |
| Who can upload | Affiliates or Partners | Affiliates and Partners (Emote Resizer) |
# Where Kick's help pages disagree about sub badges
Kick files its sub badge article in the For Viewers collection, not For Streamers, which makes it easy to miss.[1] It is also not the only Kick page that describes sub badges, and the others do not always match it.
| Topic | One Kick page says | Another Kick page says |
|---|---|---|
| Milestone months | Sub badges article: 1, 6 and 12 months as examples, slots such as 1 month or 3 months | Viewer subscriptions article: 1, 2, 3, 6 and 9 months, 1 year, 2 years and beyond |
| Who can upload | Sub badges article: Affiliates or Partners | Branding article, in its section on emotes and badges: Affiliates or Verified Streamers can upload custom emotes |
| Subscription tiers | Gift article of August 2026: a streamer may offer more than one tier | Viewer subscriptions article: a flat 5 US dollars a month, with no tiers |
| What the gifter gets | Gift article of August 2026: recognition in chat as the gifter | Gift article of May 2026: a gifted subscription badge and subscriber perks on that channel |
Milestones. The sub badge article gives three examples, 1, 6 and 12 months, and mentions slots "such as 1 month or 3 months".[1] The viewer article says many streamers design badges for 1, 2, 3, 6 and 9 months, 1 year, 2 years and beyond.[4] Third-party guides follow the longer list: OWN3D names 2, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months and beyond,[5] and Emote Resizer lists 1, 2, 3, 6, 9 and 12+ months.[6] No Kick page publishes the full set of slots the dashboard offers, so the upload page is the answer.
Eligibility. The sub badge article names Affiliates and Partners.[1] The branding article says: "Once you become a KICK Affiliate or Verified Streamer, you can upload custom Emotes that your community can use across KICK chat."[15] The troubleshooting article warns: "If the channel is new or has recently become a Verified Streamer, sub badges may not be configured yet."[16] In practice, check the Sub Badges page right after your status changes rather than assuming it was filled in for you.
Tiers and gifters. Kick has two articles on gifting. The August 2026 one says: "If the Streamer offers more than one subscription tier, you can choose which tier to gift."[17] The viewer subscriptions article says Kick subscriptions are a flat $5 USD per month and answers a FAQ on why there are no tiers.[4] On what the gifter receives, the August article says "You get recognition in chat as the gifter",[17] while the May article says "You receive a gifted subscription badge next to your username." and "You also unlock subscriber perks on that channel as the gift giver".[8]
# VIP, OG and moderator badges: limits and who can give them
Kick allows VIP badges for up to 100 viewers and OG badges for up to 50.[2] Both come with one condition: "Before you can award a Badge to a viewer, they must be following your channel."[2] Kick's command list gives the usual meaning of each: "OG badges are typically given to long-time community members from early in your channel's history", while VIP badges typically go to highly engaged members or top supporters.[7]
From the dashboard. Open your Streamer Dashboard, select Roles under Channel, click VIPs or OGs at the top, search for the username and click Add. To take a badge away, use the Remove button next to the viewer on the same page.[2] Moderators are managed the same way at dashboard.kick.com/channel/roles/moderator.[18]
| Command | What it does | Who can use it |
|---|---|---|
| /vip username | Gives a VIP badge to a user | Channel owners |
| /unvip username | Removes the VIP badge from a user | Channel owners |
| /og username | Gives an OG badge to a user | Channel owners |
| /unog username | Removes the OG badge from a user | Channel owners |
| /mod username | Gives the user a Moderator role | Channel owners |
| /unmod username | Removes the Moderator role from the user | Channel owners |
Moderators cannot hand out badges. Kick's moderation guide says: "Channel Owners have additional permissions Moderators do not, including adding or removing Moderators, granting OG and VIP badges".[18] The command list agrees, with every badge and role command marked for channel owners only.[7] Neither page gives a limit on the number of moderators.
# The Founder badge and your first 100 subscribers
Kick's only statement about the Founder badge sits in the FAQ at the bottom of its Level Badges article, an article that is otherwise about watch time: "The Founder's Badge should be given to the first 100 subscribers."[3] No other Kick help article read for this guide mentions it. None says whether the badge can be removed, whether gifted subs count toward the 100, or how it sits alongside the sub badge.
Third-party guides are more definite than Kick. Emote Resizer describes "a special Founders Badge that's automatically awarded to your first 100 subscribers".[6] Kick's own wording, "should be given", describes how the badge is meant to work rather than promising it. Kick lists no separate contact for it. The closest is the Subscriptions Team named in its troubleshooting article for subscriptions that do not appear.[16]
Kick does say that gifted subs "count the same as any other subscription" toward your subscriber count and Partner eligibility.[17] It does not say the same about Founder places. For ways to reach those first 100 subscribers, see how to get your first 100 subscribers on Kick.
Badges need people in chat
Sub badges and Founder places only matter once viewers are there to earn them. Streamrise delivers Kick viewers over a window you set, from 30 minutes to a month, and needs only your channel link, not your password. Kick's Community Guidelines prohibit using bots or third-party tools to artificially inflate views, followers or interactions. Read them and decide for yourself.
- 30 min to a month, you set the window
- No password
# Level, Daily Rewards, Staff and verified badges
These badges do not come from you as the streamer, but viewers will ask about them in your chat.
Level badge. On 2 June 2026, Zach Bussey posted on X: "Kick has introduced Level Up Badges."[21] Kick's help article, dated 11 June 2026, explains the rules. "Your level is a number that shows your journey on KICK." It rises with time spent watching live streams, and only while you are logged in. "Levels only go up, never down." And "The levelling system starts fresh from launch day."[3]
The catch is that "Your level badge is turned off by default." To show it, click the settings (gear) icon in any chat, choose Identity in the Chat Settings menu, and select your level badge under Global badges.[3]
Daily Rewards badges. Kick's Daily Rewards feature gives collectible emotes and badges for daily watching. "Your watch time needs to reach at least 1 hour in a day before you can claim that day's reward." The reward is then shown through a roulette-style reveal.[9] The article does not list which badges exist or how likely each one is.
Staff and verified. Kick's guide for parents says: "The most common forms of impersonation involve verified accounts or staff." It adds that a verified account has a checkmark next to its name on the profile, and that "legitimate KICK Staff will have the KICK Staff badge in chat."[10] If someone in your chat claims to be Kick staff without that badge, treat it as a warning sign.
# Sub badge not showing? What to check, in order
Kick's troubleshooting article covers a missing sub badge from the viewer's side. The rest of this list comes from the badge pages above.
- Wait a few minutes. "Sub badges sometimes take a few minutes to activate." Refresh the chat or rejoin the channel, then log out and back in.[16]
- Check the channel has badges. Kick tells viewers to check that the channel "actually has sub badges set up". A new or newly verified channel may not have configured them yet.[16]
- If it is your channel, check your status and the save. Sub badges need Affiliate or Partner status, and they appear once you save them on the Sub Badges page.[1] Make the change in a browser, not the Go Live app.[13]
- Gifted subs end. A gifted sub typically lasts one month and does not renew on its own.[8][17] Badges are among the subscriber perks a gift brings, so they last as long as the gift does.[17]
- Cancelled subs run to the end of the period. "You keep your subscriber perks, including badges, Emotes, and access to sub-only features, until the end of the period you have already paid for."[22]
- VIP and OG need a follow. The viewer has to follow your channel before you can give either badge.[2]
- Level badge hidden. It is off by default and needs a logged-in viewer.[3]
- Still missing after 30 minutes. Kick says that is the point to contact its Subscriptions Team, with the usernames involved and the date and time of the subscription.[16]
# The bottom line
Adding sub badges on Kick takes a few minutes once you are an Affiliate or Partner: transparent PNGs, the Sub Badges page, Save.[1] The size is the gap. Kick does not publish one, so treat the 36 x 36 figure as a third-party convention and let the upload form have the last word.[5][6]
The rest of Kick's badge rules are spread thin: VIP and OG limits in one article, the Founder badge in a FAQ about watch time, and milestone months that differ between two pages.[2][3][4] These pages are dated between May and August 2026, so check them again before you rely on a detail.
