# The two ways to donate on Kick
Kick documents one built-in way to tip a streamer: KICKs, bought on Kick and sent in the streamer's chat.[1] The other way is whatever the streamer sets up outside Kick, for example through a tool such as Streamlabs Tip Pages or KickBot Tipping.[14][15] They work differently, and the table shows where.
| Question | KICKs | Tip page |
|---|---|---|
| Who runs it | Kick | A third party, such as Streamlabs or KickBot |
| Where you start | KICKs icon under the chat box | A link the streamer shares |
| What chat sees | Your message, pinned | Depends on the tool |
| Text-to-speech | Not in Kick's guide | Offered by KickBot |
| Streamer needs | Streamer status and Stripe Connect | An account with that tool |
Sources for the table: Kick's guide says to "select the KICKs icon under the chat input box", that "Your KICKs contribution and message will appear in the channel for everyone to see", and that "Anyone who has achieved Streamer status in their Achievements and completed their Stripe Connect setup is eligible."[1] KickBot describes its tool as a way to "Accept tips with AI voice messages, alerts, GIFs, and no requirements to start."[15]
# How to buy KICKs on the web and in the app
You need KICKs in your balance before you can send them. Kick's guide gives three places to buy them.[1]
- On the web, from the top bar. "You can purchase KICKs by clicking the KICKs icon next to your avatar in the top navigation bar."[1]
- On the web, from a channel. "You can also purchase KICKs in any eligible channel by clicking your KICKs balance or the Get KICKs button."[1]
- In the mobile app, from a channel. Kick gives the same route for mobile: your KICKs balance or the Get KICKs button in an eligible channel.[1] Kick's guide to the app lists sending KICKs among the things the app can do.[4]
What KICKs cost: Kick's payments article says "There is no regional pricing — every subscription, gifted sub, and KICKs purchase is denominated in USD at the same global price."[3] None of the Kick pages read for this guide lists the price of one KICK or of a bundle, so check the amount in the purchase window before you pay. A separate Kick article on failed payments adds that "Some KICK transactions may show in a different currency depending on where the Streamer or content provider is based." It says any foreign transaction fee comes from your bank, not from Kick.[10]
# How to send KICKs and pin your message
Sending KICKs and pinning a message are one action on Kick: you pick an amount and write the message in the same window.[1]
- Open the streamer's channel and find the KICKs icon. "While on a Streamer’s channel, select the KICKs icon under the chat input box."[1]
- Choose an amount on the slider. Kick lists the choices as "1, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, or 50,000 KICKs."[1]
- Type the message you want pinned. It shows to the whole channel, so it is subject to the channel's chat rules like any other message.[1]
- Check and confirm. "Review your selection and follow the on-screen prompts to confirm."[1] After that it cannot be undone, as Section 7 explains.
How long your message stays up depends on the amount, and so does its place in line. Kick: "In the carousel, pinned messages are ranked based on a combination of the number of KICKs sent and when they were pinned. Higher-value and more recent messages appear closer to the front."[1] Kick's guide does not say how many minutes each amount buys.
# No KICKs icon? Check these four things
Kick's guide talks about buying and sending KICKs "in any eligible channel".[1] It does not describe what you see on a channel that is not eligible, so treat this list as the places to look, not a confirmed diagnosis.
- The channel cannot receive KICKs yet. Kick's rule for streamers: "Anyone who has achieved Streamer status in their Achievements and completed their Stripe Connect setup is eligible."[1] Achievements are the page in the Streamer Dashboard that tracks progress toward that status.[11] What Streamer status takes has changed over time; our guide to Kick's monetization steps tracks it.
- You cannot use the chat box. The KICKs icon sits under the chat input box.[1] Kick's guide does not say whether you can send KICKs while you are banned or timed out in that chat. If the chat box itself is the problem, start with why you can't chat on Kick.
- Your payment did not go through. Without a balance there is nothing to send. Kick says most declines are on the bank's side and that repeated declines can trigger a temporary block.[10]
- You are looking in the wrong place on mobile. In the app, the purchase route Kick gives is your KICKs balance or the Get KICKs button inside a channel, not the top bar.[1]
# Text-to-speech tips and tip pages
Kick's KICKs guide describes a pinned text message and does not mention text-to-speech.[1] TTS tips on Kick streams come from third-party tools that the streamer connects. KickBot's tipping page lists "AI TTS messages" and a moderation queue so the streamer can review tips before they play.[15] Streamlabs offers Tip Pages and says "since we don’t take a cut, you’ll keep more of your earnings."[14] Fees differ by tool; Section 8 compares what each page states.
- Look for the streamer's own link. Kick says channel panels "can be used to advertise your social media, events, or provide further information for your community."[8] A tip link, if the streamer has one, is something they post there or elsewhere themselves.
- Make sure it is really theirs. Kick warns that impersonators create usernames "very close to popular Streamers" and use them to "Run fake giveaways requiring payment to enter".[5]
- Pay on the tip page, not in a DM. Kick's advice to streamers is to "Make it clear to your community that you do not solicit donations or money outside official channels".[5]
# Can you get KICKs for free?
Not through any route Kick documents in the pages read for this guide. The Guide to KICKs describes buying them.[1] Daily Rewards, Kick's reward for watching at least an hour a day, gives "collectible rewards like emotes and badges", and its list of rewards does not include KICKs.[6]
# KICKs scams to know before you send
Kick's scam guide has a section on KICKs and payment scams, aimed at both viewers and streamers.[5] Three patterns it names:
- The fake service. A viewer offers to pay a streamer for a custom service that turns out to be set up for fraud.[5]
- The bank-details ask. A fan says they want to send KICKs but need the streamer's bank details first.[5] Sending KICKs happens inside Kick's chat and needs no bank details from the receiver.[1]
- The mistake refund. A viewer sends a large amount of KICKs, then says it was a mistake and asks for the money back, often by another payment method.[5]
Kick's position on the last one: "KICKs are non-refundable digital content — KICK does not process repayments to Viewers outside the official platform".[5] For viewers, that means a mis-sent amount is gone, so check the slider before you confirm. Kick's wider refund rules for subs, gifts and KICKs are covered in our gifted subs guide.
# How much of your donation the streamer gets
Kick's revenue split article, updated August 27, 2026: "When a Viewer sends KICKs on your channel, you receive 95% of the value."[2] An older Kick article on streamer safety, dated May 21, 2026, says: "On KICK, eligible Streamers can receive 100% of donations and 95% of subscription revenue through the 95/5 subscription split."[7] The older page does not say what it counts as a donation. For KICKs, the newer and more specific page is the one to go by. How subscriptions, KICKs and the Partner Program add up for a streamer is in does Kick pay hourly.
On third-party tip pages the split is set by the tool. KickBot states its fees: "Stripe's base processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 is charged, along with a 6% KickBot platform fee".[15] Streamlabs says it does not take a cut of Tip Page donations, and the post read for this guide does not mention card processing fees.[14]
| Route | Fees the page states | Streamer gets |
|---|---|---|
| KICKs worth $10 | 5% kept by Kick | $9.50 |
| KickBot tip of $10 | 2.9% + $0.30, plus 6% | $8.81 |
| Streamlabs Tip Page, $10 | No Streamlabs cut; card fees not stated | Not stated |
How the numbers were worked out: 95% of $10 is $9.50.[2] For KickBot, 2.9% of $10 is $0.29, plus $0.30, plus 6% of $10 ($0.60), which is $1.19 in fees and $8.81 left.[15] Two limits: Kick's pages say what share of the value of KICKs the streamer receives, not how many dollars of KICKs a viewer's purchase buys, and this guide did not buy KICKs to check. And the KickBot figure assumes its fee is taken on the full tip, as its page describes it.
You set the speed and window
Streamrise sells Kick viewers. You set the delivery speed and window in the dashboard, from 30 minutes to a month, starting at $0.49 per 100. No Kick password needed, just your channel link. Kick's Community Guidelines prohibit artificially inflating views, followers or engagement. Read them and decide for yourself.
- 30 min to a month, you set the window
- $0.49 per 100, the starting price
- No Kick password needed
# Where guides, and Kick's own pages, disagree
A single web search for how to donate on kick, run on 25 October 2026, returned a Streamlabs guide, two Twitch donation guides, a general streaming guide and thin pages about a third-party bot, and no Kick help article. The Streamlabs guide and a Win.gg news story both differ from Kick's help pages, and two Kick pages differ from each other.
| Question | One source says | Another says |
|---|---|---|
| Does Kick have native tipping? | No (Streamlabs, April 2025) | Yes, KICKs (Kick, August 2026) |
| Smallest amount for a pin? | 500 KICKs (Win.gg) | Slider starts at 1 KICK (Kick) |
| Streamer's share? | 100% of donations (Kick, May 2026) | 95% of KICKs (Kick, August 2026) |
| What currency? | USD, no regional pricing (Kick, July 2026) | May show another currency (Kick, May 2026) |
The quotes behind the rows. Streamlabs: "Kick doesn’t currently offer a native tipping feature".[14] Kick: "KICKs are KICK's tipping currency."[2] Win.gg: "Viewers will need to spend between 500 and 50,000 KICKs to pin messages."[13] Kick's guide lists amounts from 1 KICK and ties each amount to how long the message stays pinned.[1] The share and currency rows are quoted in Sections 8 and 2.[2][7][3][10]
# The bottom line
Donating on Kick means KICKs: buy them in USD, send one of ten preset amounts from the icon under the chat box, and your message is pinned for longer the more you send.[1][3] The transaction is final.[1] If you want a voice message or the streamer prefers outside tips, use the tip page they link themselves, and ignore anyone who asks for bank details, passwords or codes to send or unlock KICKs.[15][5]
