# Every limit in one table
Twitch does not list these rules together. Each row below comes from a different help page, and the limit depends on what the accounts share.
| What is shared | Allowed? | The limit |
|---|---|---|
| Phone number | Yes | No settings change, and no cap stated |
| Verified email | Yes, after a toggle | Twitch says one additional account |
| Google, Apple or Amazon login | Yes, if the email matches | Picker lists all accounts on that email |
| Monetization features | Yes | Five accounts, Partners not counted |
| Tax information | Can cause a conflict | Affects Spendable Balance enrollment |
Sources for the table: the phone rule is on Managing Your Phone Number,[2] the email rule on Creating an Account with Twitch,[1] the login rule on Twitch's social login page,[4] and the last two rows on About Monetization on Twitch.[5]
# A second account on the same email
Verifying an email switches off further accounts on it. Twitch's reason: "When verifying the email address on your account, additional creation of accounts with that email address becomes disabled to prevent abusive behavior against you."[1] So an error saying your email is already in use does not mean second accounts are banned.
- Log in to the first account. The change has to be made there: "you must enable this on your first account".[1]
- Open Settings, then Security and Privacy. The setting is listed under Contact as Enable additional account creation (Email).[3]
- Turn it on. Twitch says that without it "you will not be able to make any additional accounts using the same email address".[3]
- Sign up for the new account with that email. Twitch notes that "turning this on will allow you to register a single additional account."[1]
Twitch's page does not say what happens when you want a third account on the same email, or whether turning the setting off and on again allows another one. If you hit the same error again, check the toggle on the first account before contacting support.
# A second account on the same phone number
This is the simpler case, and it is where old advice is most likely to mislead you. Twitch's page now reads: "You can add the same phone number to more than one Twitch account. It doesn't matter which other accounts already have the number, or whether those accounts are active, disabled, or deleted."[2] You add the number as usual and enter the code. Twitch's login guide says the same, adding: "You don't need to change any settings on the other account."[15]
The five-account limit you may have read about has a real origin. In 2021 Twitch's blog said "you can verify up to five accounts per phone number."[14] None of the current help pages we read repeats that number, including the Chat Verification Settings page.[10]
# Google, Apple and Amazon logins, and switching accounts
If your accounts share an email, you can tie them to one Google, Apple or Amazon login. Twitch says this "lets you access any of your Twitch accounts through social login without needing to remember separate passwords."[4] The first time, you sign in with the provider, enter a one-time code sent to your email, and pick the account to link. After that, signing in opens a multi-account picker showing your accounts on that email.[4]
There is one condition: "Only Twitch accounts with a verified email address matching your social login provider's email can be linked through the login flow." An account with a different email can still be linked through its settings while you are logged in to it.[4]
# Can you monetize more than one account?
Yes, up to a limit. Twitch: "You may have monetization features enabled on a maximum of 5 accounts. If you exceed this limit, monetization features will be removed from your accounts with the least activity. You can still stream on all accounts, but only 5 can access monetization tools at any time."[5] The Affiliate FAQ gives the same figure for Affiliate status and adds: "Each account must meet the Affiliate requirements independently and complete separate onboarding."[6]
| Question | Answer | Where Twitch says it |
|---|---|---|
| Do Partner accounts count? | No | Monetization page |
| Which accounts lose features first? | Based on subs, then followers, then creation date | Monetization page |
| Can over-limit accounts still stream? | Yes | Monetization page |
| Does a new channel on the same email reuse payouts? | No, it needs full onboarding | Affiliate FAQ |
Sources for the table: Twitch says "Partner accounts do not count towards the maximum of 5 monetized accounts."[5] It sets the order as "subscriptions: most to least active, followers: most to least active, then finally the most recently created account."[5] For a new channel on the same email, it says you need "the full onboarding process (tax forms, payout method, Monetized Streamer Agreement) for each channel."[6]
Pick the count and the window
Streamrise sells Twitch live viewers. Pick the count and window in the dashboard, from 30 minutes to a month, and paste your channel link: no password, no OAuth, no 2FA token. Twitch's help pages call fake engagement and artificial inflation of channel statistics violations of its policies. Read them and decide for yourself.
- Starts within minutes
- No password, no OAuth, no 2FA token
- Per-minute delivery log
# The DJ Program's secondary account
This is the one case in the pages we read where Twitch documents a second account as a formal route. It is optional: "No, a second Twitch account is not required in order to participate in the DJ Program."[7] Twitch's example of when it may suit you is an Affiliate or Partner who streams variety and wants to do DJ sets part-time. It also says: "Twitch cannot make this decision for you, and will not provide specific advice."[7]
If you want Affiliate or Partner status on the secondary account, Twitch's process takes two tickets: "This process requires two separate support tickets — one filed from each Twitch account."[7]
- Prepare the new account. Create it, add 2-Factor Authentication, and enroll it in the DJ Program. You need access to both accounts and both email addresses.[7]
- File ticket 1 from your existing account. Choose Category DJ, Sub-Category Secondary Linked Account, and include the secondary account's username.[7]
- File ticket 2 from the secondary account. Choose Topic General, Category DJ Program, Sub-Category Secondary Linked Account, and include the existing account's username.[7]
- Wait for the reply. It arrives in the ticket filed from your Affiliate or Partner account.[7]
# When a second account gets you in trouble
Having two accounts is allowed. Using one to escape a penalty is not. Twitch's Community Guidelines say: "For suspended users, any attempt to circumvent an account suspension or chat ban by using other accounts or identities will also result in an additional enforcement against your accounts, up to an indefinite suspension."[9] Its phone page repeats the point: "Creating a new account to evade an existing suspension is a violation and may result in additional enforcement action."[2] For indefinite suspensions, Twitch's enforcement page lists "Creating other accounts" among the things you may not do.[8]
Shared details also connect your accounts. Twitch's Chat Verification page says: "If a phone-verified or email-verified account is suspended site-wide or banned at the channel level, all accounts tied to that number or email will also be suspended and/or channel-banned."[10] So an account you think of as separate can be hit by a penalty on another one. How long penalties last and how to appeal are covered in how long a Twitch suspension lasts.
# Prime on more than one account
Twitch's answer covers one direction only: "you can only link one Amazon account to your Twitch account at a time."[11] To use a different Amazon account, you unlink the current one first. Unlinking removes your Prime perks on Twitch but does not cancel Prime.[11]
The reverse question is the one people with two Twitch accounts ask: can one Amazon account serve both? Twitch's linking page does not say, so we will not guess. For what Prime gives you on Twitch, see the Twitch Prime guide.
# Where guides and Twitch's own pages disagree
Streamers Playbook's guide on accounts per email came up first in a web search we ran on 30 October 2026. It was last updated in August 2022, and its answers do not match Twitch's current pages.
| Question | Streamers Playbook says | Twitch says |
|---|---|---|
| Accounts per email | No set limit | The toggle allows a single additional account |
| Multiple Affiliate accounts | Allowed if each qualifies | Allowed, up to five |
| Reusing an email | Quick and easy at any time | Only after the toggle |
The quotes behind the rows. Streamers Playbook: "You can have as many Twitch accounts on the same email as you’d like as there isn’t a set limit to how many accounts you can link per email address." It adds: "Twitch allows users to quickly and easily add multiple accounts to the same email address at any time."[13] Its Affiliate answer does not mention a five-account limit: "You can have multiple Twitch Affiliate or Twitch Partner accounts as long as each accounts meets the criteria needed to reach Twitch Affiliate or Twitch Partner."[13] Twitch: "Yes, you can have Affiliate status on up to 5 accounts maximum."[6] Twitch does not publish a lifetime total per email, so the guide's first line is not disproved, but it leaves out the toggle you need.
# The bottom line
You can run more than one Twitch account. Share a phone number freely, turn on the email toggle before reusing a verified email, and keep monetization to five accounts, not counting Partners.[2][1][5] Remember that accounts sharing a number or email can share a penalty, and never use one to get around a suspension.[10][9] Before you trust an older guide on this, check it against Twitch's current pages, because the phone wording has changed since 2021.
# FAQ
Can you have multiple Twitch accounts?
Yes. Twitch says additional accounts can be created at any time, as long as you follow its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
Can you have two Twitch accounts with the same email?
Yes, but you must first click Enable additional account creation in the settings of the first account. Twitch says that allows a single additional account.
Can you use the same phone number on two Twitch accounts?
Yes. Add the number and enter the code on each account. Twitch says you do not need to change any settings on your other accounts.
Is there a limit of five accounts per phone number?
Twitch's 2021 blog post said five. The current help pages we read on 30 October 2026 give no number, though that does not prove there is no limit.
Can you have two Affiliate accounts on Twitch?
Yes. Twitch allows Affiliate status on up to five accounts. Each one has to meet the requirements on its own and complete separate onboarding.
What happens if I monetize more than five accounts?
Twitch removes monetization features from the accounts with the least activity, judged by subscriptions, then followers, then creation date. Those accounts can still stream.
How do you switch between Twitch accounts?
Twitch's social login page says to log out in settings, then sign in with your provider to reach the multi-account picker.
Can I make a new account while I am suspended?
No. Twitch treats using other accounts to get around a suspension or chat ban as a further violation, and it can lead to an indefinite suspension.
Does a ban on one account affect my others?
It can. Twitch says that if a verified account is suspended site-wide or banned at the channel level, all accounts tied to that number or email are also suspended or channel-banned.
Why can't I reuse the email from a deleted account?
Deletion takes 90 days, and the email stays linked until then. You can wait, or re-enable the account and turn on additional account creation before deleting it again.
How do I see which accounts use my email or phone?
Use the Account Recovery Tool at twitch.tv/user/account-recovery and click I Don't Know My Username. Twitch sends a list of the linked accounts.
Do I need a second account for the DJ Program?
No, Twitch says it is not required. If you make one and link it, any enforcement history from your main account also applies to it.
